Top Ten Tuesday: Taylor Swift featuring Brendan Urie (of Panic! At the Disco) - ME!

It's always nice when I don't even have to watch the video for this post because I've seen it several times already. I watched it once on my own, watched it twice with my kids, probably watched it again on my own, saw a making-of video. This has been a big deal and the fact that Old Town Road is holding this one from #1 speaks volumes. I love this song and I'm excited for the album

Top Ten Wednesday Double Feature: Sam Smith & Normani "Dancing With a Stranger" and Khalid "Talk"

This week we have a couple of interesting songs (because I sat with the first one open on my computer and never ended up posting about it...) that are linked, it turns out. The first is a collaboration between Sam Smith and Normani.

It's a very classic sounding song where, as usual, the word "dancing" means something else entirely

And then we have a solo track from Khalid (who I have previously done a Top Ten Tuesday on his collaboration with Normani! Connections!) that is also very enjoyable. Very colorful. I'm excited about this guy!

Top Ten Tuesday: Khalid "Better"

This song is very enjoyable and to vocoder part at the end is awesome. I really want to know if those were real cars or realistic looking CGI, because that driving was amazing.

Top Ten Twosday: Jonas Brothers "Sucker" and Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus "Old Town Road"

Hey hey everyone! So I've got two songs for you this week. The first is the first single from the Jonas Brothers in 6 years and it was so anticipated and so ravenously received that it became the 34th single to debut at #1 (the last one was Ariana Grande's "7 Rings" which was part of the last Top Ten Tuesday. I apparently can't handle #1 debuts lol). This song is good, but I wonder if people mostly hear it as a Nick Jonas/DNCE collaboration. I don't know what the Jonas Brothers sounded like, really, so that's what it sounds like to me, which isn't all bad actually!

And then this song I guess is part of a Red Dead Redemption meme? And then Billy Ray Cyrus jumped on a collaboration with the original rapper and then the song jumped from #15 straight up to #1!

Cardi B & Bruno Mars "Please Me"

This song debuted at #5 this week. The video isn't available yet, so here's the audio!

I just listened to a podcast about their previous collaboration: The New Jack Swing throwback song "Finesse (Remix)" and it's interesting how this is also a90's Throwback feeling song!

Top Ten Tuesday: Ariana Grande "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored"

I'm going to do two separate posts because this should have gone up last week during a monumental week for the Hot 100. For the first time since 1964, the top 3 songs were all by one performer: Ariana Grande. I've featured the two other songs (7 Rings and Thank U Next) before, so here's the third

This song is pretty good. I'd put it behind thank u next but ahead of 7 rings.

Top Ten Twosday: Ariana Grande "7 Rings"and J. Cole "Middle Child"

So it looks like I haven't posted on here in almost a month which is wild, but don't worry. There are posts coming. Oh you better believe it. Keep watching this space. I missed TTT last week, so here's a twofer.

First, the Ariana Grande song that debuted at #1 last week. It's good. It feels a little like a sketch more than a complete song, but I only listened to it once, so I'm happy to be proven wrong on that take.

And then a J. Cole song that moves up 22 positions this week. No music video yet, but it's a pretty good song!

Top Ten Wednesday: Burl Ives "Holly Jolly Christmas"

Happy New Year!! We've got some more Christmas classics hitting the Top 10 this week. Here's a song from 1964!

Top Ten Tuesday: Andy Williams "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"

This song is at #10 on this week's Hot 100. Right underneath "Drip Too Hard", so you know it's the real deal. I guess people are digging the Andy Williams this year and I love it. This video is wild. The lip syncing isn't the best but it's a truly amazing music video (slash clip from a holiday special opener, I'm imagining)

This is a short song that doesn't feel like it has very much going on in it. Maybe it's part of a larger work. The video is very briefly NSFW

Top Ten Tuesday Two-fer: Halsey "Without Me" and Panic! At the Disco "High Hopes"

So last week, I had it all set up to post about this Halsey song, but I never got around to it, so here that is. This song is very good and I like the nod to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River". The video is very compelling too!

And then here is a song by Panic! At the Disco which is on the Top Ten, which listeners to the podcast can expect to hear a lot of in the coming weeks! A LOT OF.

Well, I didn't expect to CRY when I started this video. It's truly a beautiful video basically about how great dogs are? So anyways have tissues handy

Top Ten Tuesday - Ariana Grande "thank u, next"

This is the current #1 song in the country and at first I was like "eh, seems sort of topical and it's fine but like is this really worth the hype?" and then i listened to a version WITH the "fuckin'" in it and it really makes the whole song. Like, i'm not usually one to prefer a song with curse words, but this one is REALLY helped by it!

Top Ten Tuesday: Post Malone & Swae Lee "Sunflower (From Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse)

OK wow! This song is really lovely and the video goes amazingly with it and also the Spider-Man fan in me was going wild at the thought of all these different iterations of Spider-Man teaming up. So what I'm saying is that I'm glad this is a song that I got to post about and watch. Amazing. Spectacular. Sensational. Ultimate. Web of.

Top Ten Tuesday: Bad Bunny featuring Drake "MIA"

Here is a song debuting at #5 (giving Drake his...*checks notes*...gajillionth Top Ten song) that is entirely in Spanish! It is an amazing time we're living in, if you look specifically at the Hot 100 Top Ten and almost nowhere else!

Top Ten Tuesday: Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper "Shallow"

I forgot that I didn't actually post about this song on Tuesday. That's ok. I've watched the video now and the song is very good and the video is a very throwback-feeling video where it's a performance and clips from the movie. I love that kind of video when it's from the soundtrack of the movie. Everyone is talking about how great this movie is. Have you seen it? Is it so great? Let me know!

Top Ten Tuesday: Lil Wayne featuring Kendrick Lamar "Mona Lisa"

4 songs from Lil Wayne's new album debut in the Top 10 this week. I picked the one that features Kendrick :)

At first this song didn't grab me, but then I was hooked. It's very good and they both perform their verses very impressively!

Top Ten Tuesday: 5 Seconds of Summer "Youngblood"

This was a very interesting video and the song is very good. I bet that if I were to watch it again, I would pick up on other things that are going on in it, and I think that's very cool

Top Ten Tuesday: Eminem "Killshot"

So, I guess what happened is that Eminem dropped Machine Gun Kelly's name in a less than loving way on his new album, so then MGK responded with a diss track, and this is Eminem's response.It debuted at #3 this week. I liked it a lot.

Top Ten Tuesday: Kanye West & Lil Pump featuring Adele Givens "I Love It"

This song debuts at #6. And...well, it's short and to the point. It's certainly not my favorite song I've ever heard. Not by a long shot. I do like Kanye's face in the video when the lady turns around and it looks like he just got caught.
