Top Ten Wednesday Double Feature: Sam Smith & Normani "Dancing With a Stranger" and Khalid "Talk"

This week we have a couple of interesting songs (because I sat with the first one open on my computer and never ended up posting about it...) that are linked, it turns out. The first is a collaboration between Sam Smith and Normani.

It's a very classic sounding song where, as usual, the word "dancing" means something else entirely

And then we have a solo track from Khalid (who I have previously done a Top Ten Tuesday on his collaboration with Normani! Connections!) that is also very enjoyable. Very colorful. I'm excited about this guy!

Top Ten Tuesday: Sam Smith "Too Good at Goodbyes"

Sam Smith is back in the Top Ten for the first time in maybe like 2 years? This is a very catchy, very Sam Smith-y song. I like it quite a bit, even if it is VERY sad

Top Ten Tuesday (UK Edition): Sam Smith "Writing's on the Wall"

This is #3 on the UK Charts and I'm excited to hear it because I think he was an interesting choice for a Bond theme. I'm also hoping the video has lots of Bond stuff in it!

Ok, good amount of Bond stuff, enjoyable song, and a fun way to end the video. Well done Mr. Smith!

Top Ten Tuesday (UK Edition): Sam Smith featuring John Legend "Lay Me Down"

So this is the current #1 on the UK Singles Chart. Literally only going by the music video, this was recorded by Legend and Smith for Red Nose Day.

A great song with two very talented gentlemen!

Top Ten Tuesday: DOUBLE FEATURE: Taylor Swift "Blank Space"/Sam Smith "I'm Not the Only One"

So, to kick off my Thanksgiving week of not having any regular features happen the way they normally do (kinda like I'm a real network!), I didn't have a Top Ten Tuesday last week. So this week, we're going to feature two songs!!

It's really a shame that I missed out on featuring this Taylor Swift song the week it went to number one. In doing so, it made Taylor Swift the first female artist (and tenth overall) to replace themselves at #1. The other 9 were: The Beatles, Boyz II Men, Puff Daddy, Ja Rule, Nelly, Outkast, Usher, T.I, and the Black Eyed Peas. Pretty amazing stuff.

This video is pretty amazing, too. Great visuals to a song that, I don't know about you but, I really like a lot!

And for the second part of our double feature, another very cinematic, very old-school-feeling video from Sam Smith. It features the girl who played Quinn on Glee and the guy who plays Danny on The Mindy Project, which feels like it should be a generation off, but I guess isn't?

Top Ten Tuesday: Disclosure featuring Sam Smith "Latch"

I listened to this whole album the other night and it definitely stands up well in my limited knowledge of the Dance Music genre. It reminds me of the Chemical Brothers album Surrender.

Enjoy!

Top Ten Tuesday: Sam Smith "Stay With Me"

I feel like I've been posting/talking about Sam Smith a lot on Facebook and it's great to see him make the Top Ten with this pretty amazing song. I remember sitting up in my seat when he performed it on SNL. He's definitely an example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

Here's the video:

And then here's a killer live performance with a special guest:
