Here is a song debuting at #5 (giving Drake his...*checks notes*...gajillionth Top Ten song) that is entirely in Spanish! It is an amazing time we're living in, if you look specifically at the Hot 100 Top Ten and almost nowhere else!

Top Ten Tuesday: Travis Scott featuring Drake "Sicko Mode"

Two songs debuted on the Top Ten by Travis Scott. This one debuted at #4 and I really like it! I really love how it switches beats so abruptly and I like the juxtaposition between Drake and Scott's voices. Top Ten Tuesday: Drake "I'm Upset"

Here's the deal. Drake has broken a record that the Beatles set back in the 60's. He has 7 songs on the Top Ten this week and with no research whatsoever, I believe the Beatles had the record with 5. Here's this week's top ten. I don't normally post it, but it's pretty exceptional.

Top Ten Tuesday: Lil Baby & Drake "Yes Indeed"

This song is...fine. I don't know if it's associated with some sort of meme or just being hyped because of Drake or what. It doesn't seem like an amazing enough song to be at #6, though. Let me know what context I'm missing, if any

Top Ten Tuesday: Drake "Nice For What"

This is the first song in the history of the Hot 100 to replace another song by the same artist, where both songs debuted at #1. Which is pretty cool. I like when history gets made. It also samples "Ex-Factor" by Lauryn Hill, and I hope that leads to a whole new group of people discovering THAT amazing album.

I like this song and video quite a bit!

Top Ten Tuesday: BlocBoy JB featuring Drake "Look Alive"

This was a good video. I'm a little surprised that it has debuted at #6, but it feels like the sort of song that perhaps has some sort of Internet Meme/Dance Video attached to it? It is entirely possible that I'm just not aware of it yet. I like when Drake is silly.

Top Ten Tuesday: Drake "God's Plan"

This is the 29th song to debut at #1. Every year since 2009, at least one song has debuted at #1 and Drake has checked that off for 2018! It's a decent song. Nothing about it really blows me out of the water but it's fine!

Top Ten Tuesday: Drake "Fake Love"

This is a 9.5 minute video. It's mostly not the song. But the song is in there. It's like two full scenes and then the song plays for the rest. But half of the song plays over credits. So I mean, it's like on some albums where there are Skits between songs. Only the skits are several minutes long in this case.

There's no official video for this song, but he did just perform it on SNL, so I'm going to post that. Don't be surprised if we revisit this one soon, with the release of a video

Top Ten Tuesday: Rihanna featuring Drake "Work"

I believe that this song has gone to #1 because of the release of the video, so that suits us just fine!

I'm not sure what this video is doing because the song finishes and, like, a new video starts. The second video is slightly NSFW (she's wearing a see-through shirt) but it seems like it's the song over again. Weird

Top Ten Tuesday: Drake "Hotline Bling"

There doesn't appear to be an official video for this one, as is often the case with songs just coming into the Top Ten. It'll probably be released in the next week or two.

I like this song. It's very chilled out.

Top Ten Tuesday: Drake featuring Majid Jordan "Hold On, We're Going Home"

This is the kind of video that you used to see a lot in the late 90's. I'm thinking, actually, of two Puff Daddy-related videos: "Hypnotize" and "Victory" both of which had epic storylines that went way beyond the content of the actual song.

I didn't really have any thoughts about this song before I saw the video and, having seen the video, I'm still kind of unfazed by it, but it was neat to hear the meditative calm of the song juxtaposed with the violence of the video.
