Top Ten Tuesday (UK Edition): Tinie Tempah featuring Jess Glynne "Not Letting Go"
What a fun summer jam! It's definitely a throwback to a certain sound of the 90's and with the song titles he references, Tinie Tempah is well aware of that fact and embraces it. I enjoyed this one a lot! Thanks, UK!

I think this is a weird non-Greatest Hits album to own. I love it, but I feel like it's more of a "You know their hit albums and now check out what they're doing!" sort of album as opposed to "Here's this band. Get to know them through this album" sort of album, you know?

This week's episode felt a lot shorter than usual. I think it's because of last week's HUGE episode. The songs are here and they're so great. I think you're really going to enjoy this one

Top Ten Tuesday (UK Edition): Major Lazer featuring MØ & DJ Snake "Lean On"
I think this might be the first time that a post I've made on a previous UK Edition has forced me to do another UK Edition. A song that I posted about in April because it was on the Top Ten in the UK has finally hit our Top Ten. OMI's "Cheerleader" was the song.
So this is a fun little dance track. Simple, straightforward. I like it a lot!

So I guess June in the 70's was really all about Paul McCartney and Wings, huh? I have liked all of the albums of his/them that I've listened to. And this one was no exception. I've listened to Ram and this. I have Band on the Run and Wings at the Speed of Sound on my list

Top Ten Tuesday: Andy Grammer "Honey, I'm Good"
I had only heard clips of this song, but now that I've heard the whole thing, I like it! I think it's a good message to keep in mind delivered in an enjoyable package. And the video is pretty enjoyable as well!

Top Ten Tuesday: David Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack "Hey Mama"
This song is very catchy and I'm sure we'll be hearing it a lot this summer.
The video is kind of like "Mad Max Goes to Bonnaroo" which is a decent concept I suppose.
It's not my favorite video so far this year, but it's enjoyable enough.

So I love Elton John's singles, but the only album I'd ever attempted to listen to was Goodbye Yellow Brick Road which has some great singles but is absolutely a slog to get through to the end. This album, on the other hand, feels tight and driven. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am excited to listen to it again. The song selection was easy. There was only one single.

Top Ten Tuesday: Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar "Bad Blood"
Well, as expected, this song takes over the #1 position on the Hot 100. It's not surprising, since it spent all week breaking Vevo records and being a super intense, fun, cameofest.
I am very pleased with what Kendrick adds to this, as well. Overall, a very well executed project!

June 2015 Media Update
Last Thing I Watched: When it's super late, but I still need to clean up, putting on an SNL really helps, plus it gets me closer to caught up. Last night (early this morning), I finished the Reese Witherspoon Mother's Day episode. This sketch had me dying, trying not to laugh super loud and wake up my household!
Last Thing I Read: I started the last issue of March last night and the last thing I read was this short piece by Oliver Sacks. He has such an amazing way with words.
Last Thing I Listened To: I mowed most of the lawn this morning before starting my working from home for the day. I got through the entirety of Reel Big Fish's 1996 debut Turn the Radio Off but I listened to this, the first single, and first track on the album, as I put the lawnmower away. I only saw this video for the first time recently and I love it!
New Countdown: Accomplishing Last Week's Goals This Week

Last week I sat down with the intention of just hammering out the podcast. And I failed.
But THIS week, that's exactly what I did.....a day late.
I think you can hear the excitement in my voice in talking about the new songs and some old songs and some songs that are sort of in between. I think you're really going to enjoy this one
