That quote was tweeted by Jamie Walton this afternoon and it's basically the reason why I didn't skip last week's chart. I believe in this podcast and I'm going to persist, even if it means publishing a countdown super late.
By the by, Jamie Walton is the founder of The Wayne Foundation, whose aim is to "provide women who have fallen victim to commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking with a means of leaving the sex industry for good....by providing individuals with a safe home environment that will empower them with the tools they will need to stop the cycle of abuse." It's a charity that I have really started to feel inspired to support. I would ask you to donate some money to them, because they're just getting started and they need anything you can give.
I'm also tossing around the idea of putting together a compilation to benefit The Wayne Foundation. If you are in a band or know a band that would like to contribute a song, email me and let me know. I think I would sell it on BandCamp, but I haven't even begun to hammer out the details yet. But I do have one band that has said they'll do it if it comes together. It's a good cause and would also mean a little more publicity for your band. So, you know, win-win.
ANYways...

Maybe I Should Change the Name of the Countdown to "Holding Steady"
Kind of like how on the Contrast Podcast, I feel like I should change the name of my blog to "Without Any Further Ado" because I say it so much! My wife even gives me grief when she hears me recoding an intro and then I start thinking about it and then i can't HELP but say it. Am I making ANY sense?! :)

New Countdown. With Rockblock attached!
I swear I'm getting caught up and will start doing these during the week again. Maybe. I don't know. It kind of works to do it on a day when I'm not falling over tired. It's a work in progress, you know?

Seems like just yesterday I thought to myself, "I should do a podcast!"
Well, once again, I've surpassed the capacity that Fileden lets me upload. But thanks to Mr. Tim Young I have come to realize that Google Docs is a fine place to store my files when they're too big and it won't send you gross/scary/sketchy pop-up ads! So, no play button this week, but I didn't want to cut anything out because....
IT'S MY ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY OF THE PODCAST (Go to hell, you old bastard)
So there's ample amounts of reminiscing about bygone days and days of yore and so forth and so on.
Also, never fear, I'll keep the podcast coming out nice and regular even though it's been coming out a bit late in the week recently. In the spirit of Stan Lee, "Stay Strong, True Believers!"

New Countdown in which I imagine Mumford & Sons use instruments that they don't use
That's right. It's a countdown where I let my imagination just go with whatever it can come up with. Good tunes, though

A Brand New Countdown That's A Real Rocker, I Think. Don't You Agree?
Less computer sounds this time, but more rock! I'd say that's win-win. Damn, I love music. Sometimes it just hits me. And now is one of those times. What a wonderful time to be alive!

New Countdown with ANOTHER guest contributor!!
...the plastic of the laptop! That's right. I was recording tonight with the laptop on my lap (it's what it's meant for, for goodness sake! it's right in the name!) and whenever I moved even slightly, it makes this big noise on the tape. I hope it's not too distracting. The tunes are good this week and the laptop couldn't interfere there!

New Countdown! Less Ramble! More Rock!
So I made a valiant effort not to ramble this week. And it was tough! There was a lot to talk about! The Grammys were on Sunday and we had some big wins and some performances by people that are currently on our chart! It's a good episode. And it includes....SOMETHING THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE...on this show...tune in, won't you?
