Top Ten Tuesday: The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar "Pray For Me"

Debuting at #7 is this song from the Black Panther soundtrack that basically amounts to a new Kendrick Lamar album. Or, like at least a mixtape. I'm very excited about it. It came out on Friday, but I haven't listened to anything but this and the other single from it. This song is so great.

Top Ten Tuesday: The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk "I Feel It Coming"

This is such a fun video. I think it's definitely meant to look like "Billie Jean" set on another planet. I mean there are some definite plot differences, but the overall look is the same. You see it right?

Top Ten Tuesday: The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk "Starboy"

I am VERY excited for this new Weeknd album. Both of his performances on SNL last weekend were fantastic and this video is great. The song leaps from 40-3. So look for it at #1 next week, would be my bet.

Top Ten Tuesday: The Weeknd "Can't Feel My Face" (Update: A Video!)

Well, right after I posted that double Weeknd post a couple weeks ago, the video came out for "Can't Feel My Face"! And here it is! This song is sitting JUST below the top spot and it wouldn't shock me to see it ascend to #1. It's catchy as hell!

Top Ten Tuesday: The Weeknd "Can't Feel My Face", "The Hills"

Two songs by The Weeknd are in the Top Ten this week. The first, "Can't Feel My Face" has been here for a couple of weeks now, but the second (and actually, I believe the older song), "The Hills" is just entering with the most recent chart. Here they both are!

In fact, I'm sure that "The Hills" is older. It has an actual video, but "Can't Feel My Face" doesn't, yet!

Top Ten Tuesday: The Weeknd "Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)

This is a nice song from The Weeknd from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. The video is NSFW, but the atmosphere is appropriate for the film the song is attached to.

This made me want to go listen to the three Weeknd mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence. Are those still free somewhere? Or have they been taken down since the release of Trilogy which is all three for sale as one product?

Also, I should check out his album Kiss Land.

Top Ten Tuesday: Ariana Grande & The Weeknd "Love Me Harder"

This song is very very catchy. It's one of those "wait, what did she just sing" songs where the lyrics sound sweet until you listen to them closely and realize that the content is QUITE racy.

Of course, this song is fairly run-of-the-mill for The Weeknd, if perhaps a little toned down. Man, I need to listen to those Weeknd EPs.

So, accompanying this song is a suitably subtle video. It's pretty dense with symbolism and I hope you can pick up the meaning behind it all!

Fun Trivia Fact: Ariana Grande has posted the second highest number of songs since Top Ten Tuesday started early last year, second only to Justin Timberlake. And if you don't count features, she takes the prize.
